Optimum Motorsport

The story.

Founded in 2007 and based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, Optimum Motorsport is one of Britain's most successful GT teams.

Led by Shaun Goff, the team started out in Ginetta racing before growing into a front-running McLaren squad competing around the world.

Optimum has built its name in British GT. The team won the 2018 GT3 title with Flick Haigh and Jonny Adam in an Aston Martin, then won the GT4 crown with Zac Meakin and Jack Brown in 2024 and again in 2025 with Brown and Marc Warren, adding the GT4 Silver title with Harry George.

The team has also raced under the Inception Racing banner, including at Le Mans, and recently made its debuts at the Macau GT Cup and the Bathurst 12 Hour.

In 2026 Optimum is running its biggest programme yet: two McLaren 720S GT3 EVOs in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup, a first full season including the Sprint Cup, and a GT3 return in British GT with Brown and Warren.
